About Us

Awesome Boxing Gym was born from the passion of its founder and head coach, Carlos Galindez, whose love for both boxing and long-distance running has shaped his unique approach to training. Carlos holds the Green, Bronze, and Silver certifications through USA Boxing organization. He started his coaching journey when he stepped in to help the grandson of a close friend who wanted to compete but lacked the proper preparation to compete. In 2022, Carlos began volunteering at Cherry Street Boxing Gym in Pittsfield, where he started training one of their beginner boxers. Within just six months of training with him, this pupil became the Western New England champion of the Golden Gloves. A month later, he became the New England champion of the Golden Gloves in the Novice category. Winning both tournaments is an extraordinary achievement that all took place within three months of his first competitive fight under Carlos's coaching.
